Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

FIRE!

It would seem by the pictures included in this post, that I am a pyromaniac, but I really am not. I guess maybe I am on some level, but my kids are not in danger I promise. We recently bought a fire pit for the backyard and have had so much fun roasting marshmallows and hanging out!

Also, Mikey bought me ceramic logs for our fireplace and we have thoroughly enjoyed snuggling up by the fire as family. Here are the munchkins in a series of fireplace poses.

May your days be merry and bright! And may you find time for a holiday fire!

My favorite thing about black Friday is that more often than not, I never leave home! We always decorate for Christmas on the Friday after Thanksgiving. These two little blessings continue to fill our home with laughter and joy. I don't know that I could have made it through this year without them. I am truly thankful for the privilege of being their mother.

Every family has their traditions. Some might question the safety of ours. We have the annual wrapping of the offspring in Christmas lights.

And, I just can't get enough of this little cheeseball. Every morning before she comes down to eat breakfast, she dresses in all of her princess finery. Because, lets face it, you would hate to be under dressed for a poptart.

Monkeys in Disguise

It seems like we have had several occasions to get out the camera lately! Carter was student of the month for October and brought home his very own personalized golden football. Gone are the days of the prize ribbon, friends.

Evyn adores her gymnastics class and loves to wear her leotard! I know that this picture is sideways, and frankly I am too lazy to take corrective action.

When you have a buzz haircut and it is crazy hair day at school, you have no other choice than to bust out the dread locks hat.

And Evyn needs no excuse to dress up. This child was born to accessorize.

Last but not least, I proudly present to you Obi Wan Kenobi (Jedi Master) and Princess Leia. Happy Halloween!

Another Dorky Family Tradition (For Danny)

Isn't it funny how family traditions are born? When Carter was tiny, we snapped this adorable picture of him holding hay at the pumpkin patch. Every year since, we have attempted to recreate the same picture. I can just imagine him at the age of 17 rolling his eyes and holding out his hay for Mama. At Uncle Danny's request, here is the progression of the scarecrow. . .

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

I love Fall. I love it when the heat from summer finally starts to taper off and the leaves start to change. I love how crisp the air feels. I love pumpkin spice creamer. It is hands down my favorite season of the year. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to this Fall!

We went camping at the start of October with Grammy and Mark. And even though it rained a lot, we got to fish, build a campfire and make s'mores, and enjoy being together!

Carter's 1st grade class went on a field trip to the corn maze, and I got to go with them. Below is Carter with the other woman in his life, Mrs. Sandefur, and his new bestie, Zane. I asked Carter who the prettiest girls were in his class and he told me Ellie and Mrs. Sandefur. Love that.

These were the monkeys that I was in charge of herding through the maze. Luckily they were really sweet and stuck together!

The kids got to choose their own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. They picked them on the vines and then got to cut them off. Very cool.

My baby turned three. And my house was invaded by all things pink, princess, and hello kitty. Have I mentioned that she is such a girlie girl?

Part of our celebration of Evyn's birthday was a trip to our local pumpkin patch. We have our silly annual tradition pictures that we love to take there. We were thrilled to find Cinderella (Evyn's VERY favorite princess) all dressed up and waiting to take a picture with Evyn. She was convinced that Cinderella came to the pumpkin patch just for her birthday. Precious.

Three

Three years ago, God blessed me with a daughter. She has filled our house with sunshine, laughter, and pink. Happy birthday, princess. I love you so very much.
